Programming with Microsoft Visual Basic® .NET and the .NET Framework

This non-credit course will provide learners with a detailed overview of the Visual Basic language and its implementation of object-oriented concepts. Students are introduced to the .NET Framework, which is a Microsoft platform for building various types of applications from high-performance Web sites to rich Windows clients. Topics to be addressed in this course include arrays and collections, creating and destroying objects, inheritance, polymorphism, events, and accessing data with Microsoft ADO.NET. It is strongly recommended that students have previous object-oriented programming experience in a language such as C++, Java, or Visual Basic before taking this course.

This course uses Visual Studio 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5.
